Ivana Chubbuck is the founder and director of the Ivana Chubbuck Studio and creator of the cutting edge and widely adopted Chubbuck Technique. There are 16 ongoing classes at the Ivana Chubbuck Studio, ranging from introductory to master classes. The Studio maintains a focus on producing and nurturing working actors in a rigorous professional environment. It is our mission to empower our students with the tools to become successful and to make dynamic, empowered choices in their work.Some of the actors Ivana has worked with during her 30-plus year career include Academy Award winners and nominees:

Virtually every year Ivana’s students are well represented at the Academy Awards, Emmys, Golden Globes, Tonys, and many other international awards. For the 2006 Academy Awards Ivana’s students were nominated in every acting category: Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.


In October of 2004 Penguin Books published Ivana’s book, The Power of the Actor. The book became an instant success, spending weeks on the Los Angeles Times top ten Bestsellers List. For more than a year it was the number one selling book about acting at Barnes and Noble. Currently her book is being adopted for use as a textbook in many colleges and universities across the country, as well as having been translated into a number of languages around the world, including Spanish, Hebrew, Romanian, Italian, Danish, Russian, Turkish, and soon to be Japanese, Chinese, and Greek.


Ivana has also been a guest master teacher at The Juilliard School of Drama in New York, teaching a selected group of premiere fourth year students.  She has also taught workshops around the world, including Australia, Denmark, The Netherlands, England, Israel, Canada, Italy, Russsia, Romania, Germany, Philippines, Norway, Chile, etc.


Ivana Chubbuck was honored by The Russian International Film Festival (she is of Russian decent) with a lifetime achievement award for her contributions to the film industry alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, William Friedkin, and Francis Ford Coppola.

Claire Chubbuck, Ivana Chubbuck’s daughter, is a television and motion picture executive at Participant Media, whose films include Good Night, and Good Luck, Syriana, An Inconvenient Truth, Food, Inc., Waiting for ‘Superman’, The Help, Contagion and Lincoln. While studying Film and Television at New York University’s Tisch, Claire was a Programming and Scheduling executive at AMC Networks when the company first gained widespread notoriety for programs such as Breaking Bad, Mad Men, The Killing, and The Walking Dead. Claire has also produced a wide range of content from festival winning feature documentaries to internationally broadcast short form content for ACLU. Oxfam, Stand Up 2 Cancer, SundanceTV, AMC International, and more.


Amy Dudgeon is a working actress and writer originally from Kentucky. Having studied with Ivana Chubbuck for over ten years, she has used the technique to continue a successful and steady career. Amy has worked with youth in acting, movement, dance and singing for over 15 years. Prior to her move to Los Angeles, she performed in the traveling company of A Chorus Line.

Jennifer Collins is an internationally known acting coach and working actress. After beginning her career in New York, she has studied with an array of prominent instructors including Uta Hagen, John Strasberg, Shelly Winters and, finally, Ivana Chubbuck. Using the Chubbuck Technique, Jennifer Collins has cultivated a lasting career in film, television, and theater.
